Ballmaster Open 2016

Wanna know the hardest part about going from AIK to Ballmasters is?

Mindset.

The scores are not even close, definitely not striking as much but you are still chasing the strikes for some stupid reason. That's obviously something I need to work on.

My scores are no good at the moment. I gotta figure out a way to strike. I'm trying to stay clean at the moment and hope to find a good pair that will let me strike.

AIK Tournament

Just wow. It was a long 3 days in Stockholm, we started with qualifying on Monday 6pm. I bowled ok, +123 in my squad but room to improve. Decided to sign up for the morning squad on Tuesday 8am. Not much sleep but ready to bowl in the morning, improved my scores but only a little +144.
It was a strike fest and I just couldn't figure out how to join it.
3rd squad at 3pm was just a disaster, tried different solutions and couldn't find anything to work for me.

In AIK tournament there are many different ways of making the finals & semifinals. Top 30 from qualifying and top scores game 5 and 6 makes it straight to finals. Then 31-66 on the total qualifying, 4 ladies out of the cut, 4 youth, 4 seniors and 4 hcp bowlers made the semis together with next two scores from game 5 & 6. The semi finals was bowled on Tuesday evening at 10pm.

I was lucky enough to capture on of the spots on the ladies gateways to the semis.

12 people out of 56 made it from semis. In the semis I bowled my best so far this trip, I was +202 going into the last game. The last game my mind played some tricks on me but I tried to stay clean and made it through as the last one in the cut.

We were done late and the finals started early, not much sleep but this girl was so extremely happy with making it so I didn't really care about sleep. And if we look at my scores on the morning of the finals obviously sleep didn't matter.
My good execution continued and I shot 270-300 my first two games. 570 with 21 strikes in a row with my Rocket is my highest score in two games ever. I will later on today post a video of my last shot of the 300 game on my Instagram, go check it out! @miniheffaa_

I made the first step with a good margin, I bowled +250. We got to bowl another 4 games and here I couldn't put my strikes together unfortunately and I had to settle with a 14th place in the tournament.

Cut for the top 30 was: 1434/6
Five bowler scored over 1500/6
17 - 300 games during the tournament

No onto Ballmasters in Helsinki, Finland. The weather is terrible over here, it was -25 (-13F) when we arrived yesterday and this morning -28c (-18F). Thank God we are gonna bowl inside!

My first squad is 10am this morning, it's a one hour time difference from Sweden.

Fingers crossed!

good morning Stockholm

Yesterday was rough. It was so not my day. I showed up to the wrong squad, luckily I was early and not late. I got lost on the streets of Norrköping when driving from the bowl to the hotel. My sole fell off in the middle of my approach, luckily I was able to stop before falling over. I also left this during my second block:

Yep, the 5pin moved in between the 2-8.

Do I really have to mention that it was a strike fest and I couldn't carry to save my life? Oh well. At least I'm happy with how I was executing my shots and I'm gonna bring that positive feeling into AIK tournament instead.

So last night after bowling me and Amelie drove to Stockholm. I fell asleep like a little baby when we got to the hotel.

Hotel breakfast this morning was a great way to start the day. Today is a day filled with driving to and from the airport. Soon picking up TJ and DJ and later on Lindsay. Can't wait to see them all again! It's been way too long. :)

Bowling again tomorrow at 6pm, find the scores at www.aiktournament.com

origo tournament

I just hate that I'm such a hard headed person sometimes. This time I got punished for it.
I was so convinced that I was gonna bowl at 1pm and 4pm today. So we had to get up at 8.30am, left the house at 10.30am and made it just around noon so we had time to eat lunch before I was gonna bowl. At least that was my plan until I got to the registration desk and they told me I'm on the 4pm and 7pm squad.

Well done Sandra.

At least we are here on time.

We are bowling 6 games qualifying on Abbey Road.

I will update you between the squads :)

Fingers crossed

life in a suitcase

today is the day! I'm back!
4am this morning I got home after working at the nightclub downtown. Fun night at work as everyone was all dressed up and happy, makes my evening so much easier. When I got back home I realised my bags were still unpacked. 😩 after grabbing something quick to eat, dressed down to something more comfortable I started packing.

Went to bed around 6am and alarm went off at 10am. AWESOME  I'm not a morning person at all and it's not fun when I only get 4h of sleep.

I was ready to leave home around lunch time, went to the bowl to get the bowling balls. All 28 of them. No its not all mine, I'm taking stuff for my brother and my friend John too and also Anna is with me in the car.

So my schedule for the next few days are gonna look like this:
1 Jan - driving to Vimmerby
2-3 Jan - driving to Norrköping. bowling a ladies tournament.
3-7 Jan - driving to Stockholm to bowl the biggest tournament in Sweden,  the AIK tournament.
7-11 Jan - flying to Finland for Ballmasters.

When Anna and I got to my friends house, we are staying here tonight, the dinner was served - we had taco pie, so delicious! Of course we had to do dessert too - chocolate fondue with fruits.
Yep I'm full, I'm happy and I'm tired.

Ok i better get some sleep so I'm ready for tomorrow. I will give you more details tomorrow on where to find scores and everything.

Sleep tight lovers,
S
